OMSA has a variety of available resources such as books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs containing information on diversity and cultural. These resources are available to all VCU students, faculty, and staff. The resources in the Multicultural Resource Library are great for class projects or for broadening your understanding of diversity and multiculturalism. All you need is your VCU Card to have a world of cultural knowledge and entertainment at your fingertips!
Presidential Awards for Community Multicultural Achievement (PACME)
Prior to 2014, OMSA coordinated this award program in conjunction with the President's Office to honor individuals who have made significant contributions toward enhancing VCU's commitment to diversity. PACME awards are currently coordinated by the Division for Inclusive Excellence. Every PACME recipient receives $500. Additionally, the Riese-Melton Award, a capstone, is given. The recipient is chosen from the PACME winners and receives an additional $250. Visit the PACME site for more information.
The Burnside-Watstein LGBT Award
The Burnside-Watstein LGBT Award is given annually by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Subcommittee of VCU’s Equity and Diversity Committee to one or more individuals who enrich the community at VCU and make a significant difference in the lives of LGBT faculty, staff and students.
