Donning of the Kente Ceremony

The Donning of the Kente ceremony celebrates the achievement of black undergraduate, graduate, and PH.D. candidates. This ceremony provides students with a positive and rewarding experience that recognizes hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Each graduate receives a commemorative stole to symbolize their academic achievement. The ceremony takes place during fall and spring commencement.

Registration is now LIVE for OMSA's Fall 2019 Cultural Achievement Ceremony!

The Cultural Achievement Ceremony for Donning of the Kente, Latinx Achievement, and Lavender Graduation will be taking place on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. in the Commonwealth Ballroom in the University Student Commons (907 Floyd Ave).

Graduates will need to complete an online quiz prior to registering for the ceremony. The online quiz covers the specific details about the ceremony. The registration link is provided at the end of the quiz.
