Multicultural Connection Advisement Program (MCAP)

MCAP is currently accepting new student applications for the 2019 - 2020 academic year.  If you are interested in having a peer mentor and participating in the program, complete this application form.

The Mentoring Connections Advisement Program (MCAP) provides underrepresented new students (students of color, LGBTQIA+ and transfer students) the opportunity to build connections with current VCU students, faculty, and staff members. MCAP provides new students with a faculty/staff mentor and a student mentor (sophomore - senior) and academic, leadership, and community engagement opportunities to help them navigate their first year at VCU.

Program Benefits:

  • Enhance sense of belonging and engagement with university community by providing a student mentor and faculty/staff mentor.
  • Academic, personal development, and career development workshops and resources to strengthen one’s ability to be successful in and outside of the classroom.
  • Social, cultural, professional development, and community engagement opportunities.
