The Lavender Celebration celebrates the achievement of LGBTQIA+ undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral candidates. Lavender Celebration began in 1995 on the campus of the University of Michigan and have since expanded to universities around the country. Each graduate receives a commemorative rainbow cord to symbolize their academic achievement. The ceremony takes place during the fall and spring commencement.
We've transitioned from our traditional in-person ceremony structure to ensure public health and safety at this time.
Registration for May 2021 graduates is closed.
