Wednesday, Oct. 2 | 2 P.M.
https://vcu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcqcuCtrDwuH9dL4bys7A43JhwRtanrf7uc
This interactive Zoom workshop is designed to make you more familiar with writing in a more personal way by introducing the ideas of “code meshing,” and testimonio—a methodological and narrative framework often used by Latin American writers, scholars, and activists.
Narrative Writing is a piece of writing that tells a story and often makes connections from personal experience. Writing a testimonio pushes this further to assert your identity as an important factor in how you write, speak, and think about certain ideas.
This workshop will help students learn how to craft their narratives through the testimonio while also being affirmed and proud of their identity through their writing.

This year for the Matilde Moros Annual Lecture we will be hosting the Beehive Collective, an activist artist collective that creates collaborative, anti-copyright illustrations to both plant the seeds of critical thought and resistance, and to support ongoing organizing and movement building.
