Personal Narrative as Queer Life Writing Workshop
Monday, Oct. 28 | 2 p.m. via Zoom
https://vcu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0rfuyvrzIsG9WeZFfexoTOBGUVJo-wb3eG#/registration
This interactive Zoom workshop is designed to familiarize participants with personal writing by introducing the concept of “queer life writing” through journaling as a mindfulness practice for LGBTQ+ students. Narrative writing tells a story and often makes connections from personal experience. Queer life writing pushes this further by “queering” conventional modes of writing to cultivate a unique voice based on individual experiences and knowledge. This workshop will help students learn about the self-care benefits of journaling and feel empowered in their identity and experiences.
