Support[HER] Game With VCU Women's Basketball, Presented by Synergy Technical

Be a part of VCU Women's Basketball history. VCU Women's Basketball will host its first Support[HER] game at the Stuart C. Siegel Center,1200 W. Broad St., against George Mason University. The game is presented by Synergy Technical. As part of the nationwide movement in supporting women's athletics, the Support[HER] game aims to break VCU Women's Basketball current attendance record of 1,500. Tickets are $5 for VCU faculty and staff and free for VCU students.

For Thee Hotties: Empowering Your Female Energy

This event is in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, CULTURE, and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. It will be a part of the “For the Hotties” series that OMSA previously had during Black History Month. This event will be tailored to all women and femmes during Women’s Herstory Month. The goal will be to provide an event where women can create a craft and friendships with other female students while learning and expressing femininity and how to empower their feminine energy.

Defeat your fitness center phobias! In this program a Certified Personal Trainer will teach you the foundational methods of resistance training and workout design. You will start with basic movements in the FitZone at Cary Street Gym to build confidence and progress to the rest of the fitness floor for more advanced exercise. Each week you will learn about new equipment and exercises so you can feel confident in the weight room. Your trainer will utilize strength machines, resistance bands, cable stacks, and free weights to build your skill and knowledge of proper technique and progressions. Start achieving your goals through knowledge and strength! This program is open to women, and individuals who are non-binary and/or gender non-conforming. Questions? Email fitness@vcu.edu

Join us for conversation with Liza Mickens, the great-great-granddaughter of Maggie Lena Walker. Walker, born in Richmond in 1864, was a pioneer of her time. Along with being the financial leader of her own family, she was the first female, African-American bank president, in a post-Civil War America where she was met with challenges every step of the way. Generations later, Liza celebrates her family's inspiring legacy. Liza will share the unique history of her family and how it ties into her financial confidence today.
